CBS News Analyst Andrew Cohen & Bad Journalism

CBS News Analyst (dare we call him that) Andrew Cohen is taking a lot of flak for his comments about PR people in the wake of revelations from former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan.

"Show me a PR person who is "accurate" and "truthful," and I'll show you a PR person who is unemployed. The reason companies or governments hire oodles of PR people is because PR people are trained to be slickly untruthful or half-truthful."

These kinds of comments are just stupid. They are completely unprofessional and uncalled for. Let's get real here. Good journalism is about accuracy and Cohen's indictment of the entire PR profession --- without evidence --- is completely unprofessional and is a shameful reminder of what happened when Edward R. Murrow walked out the door at CBS.
