10 Tips For Facebook Success!

Success in social/digital media isn't measured by how many followers your Facebook page has, it should be measured by the level of engagement.

Here are 10 tips to help you engage your followers:

1. The Cocktail Party. Think of Facebook as a cocktail party. You walk into a room, introduce yourself, and in an effort to sincerely build relationships, you ask questions. You are genuinely interested. You actively listen. You respond and of there is a chance to help, you do so.

2. What Time is The Party? Test posts and go into Facebook Insights to see when your followers are most active--that is--when they are attending the party. That's when you want to be most active.

3. Capture The Fun at the Party! Take pictures. Research shows that interesting and relevant pictures draw attention to posts.

4. Let People Attending the Party Feel Special: Thank them for their posts, and thank them when they share one of your posts.

5. Don't Go To The Party if You Are Bipolar: Be consistent in what you do, your writing style, your voice, and most of all, your personality.

6. Why Are You At The Party? Know what your goal is for using Facebook.

7. Liven Up the Party! Hold drawings and giveaways. For example, have people submit photos/short videos using your product and/or service. Each month everyone who uploaded these is automatically entered into drawing. It can be as simple as a $50 gift card.

8. Ask the People at the Party What They Think! Let people at the party vote with the LIKE and SHARE Buttons.

9. Greet Your Guests in a GREAT WAY! Have an amazing cover picture. One that is relevant, interesting, and GRABS their attention.

10. Help Your Guests at the Party! When you post pictures, provide a description and a link.
